Since my sister's death, I've read a few books about Heaven but Imagine Heaven has been the clear favorite. Burke has compiled hundreds of stories of near death experiences, (people who have died on operating tables and come back to life for example), the stories of both Heaven and Hell are remarkable -- a true must read no matter your spiritual beliefs. By John Burke.
In the Meaning of Marriage, Tim Keller and his wife, Kathy dive into God's purpose for marriage, how to manage marital expectations, and cover the sticky territory of gender roles in a well researched, Biblical, and humorous way. Though I read this years ago, I recently picked it back up and was reminded of how thoughtful and compelling the content is.
You may be aware of Elisabeth Kubler Ross' work if you've heard of the five stages of grief - On Grief and Grieving is her work helping those who have lost a loved one understand grief and have some sense of what to expect. I found this incredibly helpful in my own grief journey after losing my sister.
These are books I have found useful - I am not receiving any type of financial incentive or payment for recommending them, nor do I receive anything if you purchase through these links. Just passing along what is helpful!
